The results of the spot check showed that most of the products contained free formaldehyde and volatile organic compounds (VOC) content within the safety limits specified in the standard. However, some small-scale enterprises have many product quality problems. Not only are the key performance indicators uncleared, but some have even carried out the so-called “green product†signs to mislead consumers even without relevant guarantee measures or any tests.
Experts remind consumers to pay attention to the following points when purchasing and using latex paint:
★ The first-selected well-known enterprise products should go to regular shops or specialty stores when purchasing products.
★ Check the appearance and logo First observe whether the iron drum is intact, especially if there is no rust leakage at the seam or weld seam of the iron drum, and then pay attention to whether the clear mark on the iron drum is complete.
★ Do not apply latex paint and polyurethane paint at the same time, otherwise it will lead to yellowing of latex paint. Do not apply latex paint until the paint has dried completely during construction and use primer as much as possible.
★ Stores can not open iron cans on the spot to check the internal quality of interior paints. When purchasing, they must obtain valid certificates such as purchase invoices.
★ Checking the internal quality After opening the package, you must “see, smell, and rub†to see if the coating has any sedimentation or agglomeration; if there is any smell or pungent odor in the coating, three rubs will apply the coating.
