British papermakers receive a 2.5% pay rise

Through the arduous negotiations between Unite unions and industry representatives, British paper workers are finally expected to receive a 2.5% pay rise.

The Unite union advises workers to accept this proposal. If this proposal is passed, more than 2500 employees in more than 20 factories will receive a raise.

Peter Ellis, the Director-General of the Unite Union, said: "We know that the current economic situation will make negotiations more difficult, but at the same time we are happy to finally reach a consensus with the paper industry, which reflects the spirit of cooperation between us."
