The transformation is extremely prudent, and several prerequisites must be met without making major changes to the reducer. It must be reliable after the transformation, and the transformation cannot be allowed to fail. Try to spend less and delay production. According to the above fault analysis, if the problem of damage to the four lower shafts is solved, the problem of excessive axial force on the four lower shafts must be solved.

Considering several prerequisites, we have designed a retrofit solution that does not make any changes to the body of the W reducer, but instead makes a new four lower shaft bearing end cap instead of the original end cap. Install a thrust spherical roller bearing on the new end cap to withstand the axial force, so that the original roller bearing can only bear radial force and avoid damage. The reason why the thrust spherical roller bearing is selected is that the deformation of the original shaft and the perpendicularity of the shaft end and the shaft cannot be ensured.

The newly designed bearing end caps are fitted with tight tolerances to the original bearing housing bores to ensure that the newly installed thrust spherical roller bearings are concentric with the original shaft. There is no risk in this transformation plan. The investment in making a new end cap is very small. It is a good solution to replace the new end cap with only one stop. The axial force radial force of the improved four lower shaft inner bearing is respectively borne by two sets of bearings. The original cylindrical roller bearing only bears radial force, and the thrust spherical roller bearing on the new end cover only bears axial force. They each use their strengths, so they work reliably and have a long working life. The other description of the transformation plan is a modified four-axis shaft end structure with a radial ball bearing, a thrust spherical roller bearing, an end cap, and a roller bearing.
