Brief introduction of triple circular steel drum production process

In early October of 1988, in the “National Conference on the Identification of North-East and North China Seaborne Dangerous Goods for Export of Dangerous Goods” held at the Tianjin China Packaging Scientific Research and Testing Center, the 200-liter closed steel drum produced by our factory was tested and confirmed to be in compliance with the “International Maritime Risk”. "Class I packaging requirements. This is a fruitful achievement of our factory over the past few years, working hard to study and test.
The Tianjin Cooperage Factory is an old enterprise that receives the original Meifu Oil Company's barrel-making equipment in Tianjin and produces steel drums. It has a production history of 60 to 70 years. In recent years, the pace of progress has been small, and the pace of development has not kept pace with some of the brother factories. Before and after the year of 1978, our factory discovered advanced barrel making techniques such as automatic placement and positioning resistance contact welding and triple circular crimping on the packaging steel drums of imported chemical products. Through the departments concerned, several round-edged barrels from countries such as the Netherlands, Italy, and Japan were found. Only anatomical analysis was performed and general technical understanding was performed. With the continuous deepening of China’s economic reforms and the intensification of open and lively policies, foreign trade has developed rapidly. In order to adapt to the export of goods, especially some chemical dangerous goods exports to the requirements of packaging steel drums, under the impetus of the national inspection of packaging, some of the domestic barrelmakers have started trial production of triple round steel drums. The State Administration of Commodity Inspection began to prepare for the implementation of the "International Maritime Transport Danger Regulations" 90 years ago. The situation is pressing and it is imperative to produce triple round rolled steel barrels. Since then our factory has begun the development of triple round steel drums. The mass production of round-edge barrels has generally gone through three phases. The specific conditions are briefly described as follows:
First, research and exploration, preliminary trial stage.
In the two months of May-June in 1985, our factory set up a research team composed of engineering technicians and experienced workers, and began to research and research the triple round-barreled barrels. They started with the anatomical analysis of foreign round-side crimping buckets, involving the size of each part of the top and bottom of the barrel, and the pre-crimping process dimensions; the size of the barrel side pull; the geometric curve of the crimper steel wheel and hemming wheel. Technical data such as size. Despite arduous research and exploration, due to the limitations of our understanding at that time and the constraint of equipment conditions, the shape of the curling was not ideal and the volume was insufficient. Through preliminary attempts, we have clearly realized that the processing of triple-circle crimps must be made possible by the availability of technological equipment, and that we must work harder to do a good job in the introduction of the barreling equipment that is being carried out.
Second, continue to test, constantly aware of, and gradually grasp the stage of development of technology.
In July 1985, our factory dispatched personnel to visit Japan with a delegation of Petrochemical Corporation. In Japan, we visited the 8,000-generation barrel factory and Maeda Plant and other units. We also discussed with the Japanese engineers and technicians the production process of round-edged edging. Learned that the Japanese barrel making industry introduced Dutch Wanli company's round curls to create patents. It gained great inspiration and benefited greatly.
From July to August of 1986, our factory also used the opportunity of importing barrel-making equipment to go abroad to see sample orders. We sent people to the United States, to Holland’s Wanli branch in the United States, and to Evans Company and Tsala Tank Factory. Rum factory and other barrel factories focused on the study and learning of the manufacturing technology of round-edge barrels, which enabled us to thoroughly understand the key and key points of this process technology. Through the second inspection study abroad, several plants of our petrochemical system have mastered the manufacturing process of triple round steel drums to varying degrees. On this basis, in the four months after November of 1986, the petrochemical system's cooperating drummaking technical cooperation group conducted trials of triple rounding at our plant several times. Our factory made the following changes to the equipment and process:
(1) Change the punching size of the top and bottom of the bucket, and roll the bottom hand of the bucket on the C630 lathe;
(2) Change the size of the flip side of the barrel so that the size of the top and bottom can be appropriate during the crimping process;
(3) The cam curve of the roller of the crimper was changed. The geometry of the hemming roller and the size of the rim of the hemming support also changed accordingly. Thanks to the joint efforts of the six petrochemical plants, an ideal triple round steel drum was finally made. We provided relevant data to the U.S. factory that manufactures barrels for our factory and created conditions for batch production of round-edged barrels. Our factory noticed that due to the poor precision of our factory's edger and crimper, the curling was not very uniform. Therefore, after deciding that the equipment to be introduced will be put into production, it will formally produce triple-circle barrels to ensure stable processing quality.
Third, the trial production, a small amount of production to the initial stage of mass production.
In the mid-August of 1987, after the introduction of equipment to the factory, we promptly seized on the equipment's commodity inspection, inventory, installation, and processing of domestic ancillary equipment. All work was ready in October. In January 1988, the American engineering and technical personnel arrived at the factory and were very satisfied with the work of our factory and successfully debugged once. After the organization's operating personnel became familiar with the performance of the equipment, trial production of triple round-edged barrels began. Less than a week, the very satisfied triple round rolled steel drums were produced on the imported equipment. After multiple drop tests and hydrostatic tests, there was no leakage. In order to act cautiously, our factory made a small number of barrels in small batches, and sent them to users together with product descriptions and request for comments to allow users to check and confirm. After receiving good comments and praises from users, mass production of triple-circular steel drums began in April 1988, and nearly 100,000 have been produced so far, and no quality accidents have occurred. Initially reached a more mature stage.
Fourth, a few experiences in the work:
1. To obtain a very satisfactory triple round edge, the quality of the process before crimping is very important, such as: the punching size of the top and bottom of the barrel, the size and shape of the pre-crimping, the size and uniformity of the pull side size of the barrel Sex and so on cannot be ignored.
2. The choice of the type of anti-seepage filler material and the application of the coating technique and the amount of smearing will affect the quality of the crimping.
3. In order to ensure the quality stability of the triple hemming, it is necessary to adhere to periodical cutting angle detection at regular intervals. When problems are found in the glue, timely adjustments are made. According to the experience of domestic and foreign manufacturers, one-to-two cut angle tests are suitable for one-day production.
Our production of triple round steel drums is only just starting and many problems in production have yet to be further resolved. In the future, we will continue to make unremitting efforts to continuously improve the quality of our steel drums to meet the growing needs of foreign trade exports.
