Fire sense: anti-theft and fire prevention more than 20,000 cash was burned to ash

Two days ago, I came across a heartbreaking news story about an elderly couple from Xinqiao Town, Xinbei District, Jiangyan. They lost almost everything in a sudden house fire that left their home in ruins.

The fire reportedly broke out at 2:37 PM on Wuyishan Road in Xinqiao Town. When firefighters from the Taishan Road Fire Squadron arrived, they found a lot of debris surrounding the building, which may have contributed to the rapid spread of the flames.

During the firefighting efforts, the elderly couple was extremely anxious. They mentioned that there was over 20,000 yuan stored in the room. Under the protection of his fellow officers, one firefighter rushed into the burning house for nearly ten minutes, following the old man’s directions and retrieving two bundles that looked like money. However, when the old man saw most of the cash had been burned, he started crying uncontrollably on the spot. According to him, the money was their hard-earned savings for the entire year, meant to buy an electric tricycle. It turned out that the fire happened when the old man was cooking porridge and stepped out briefly, leading to the accident.
