The network camera English is: Net work IP Camera, referred to as IP camera, is a system that combines a camera and a computer. The main components of a network camera include a lens, an image sensor, one or more processors, and a memory. Image sensors are used for image acquisition, and processors are used for image processing, compression, video analysis, and networking functions. The memory is used to save the webcam firmware (computer program) and support local recording of video.
The network camera has the world's only physical MAC address, and also has its own IP address, which can be directly connected to the network and deployed anywhere in the network connection. Unlike web cameras, such cameras can only be connected to a personal computer ( PC ) via a USB or IEEE 1394 port . The PC must have software installed. Web cameras have web servers, FTP (File Transfer Protocol) and email capabilities, and include many other IP networks and security protocols.
The network camera can send video over the IP network for on-site viewing and / or recording at the set time, based on the activity or authorized user's application . The captured images can be M-JPEG , MPEG-4 or H.264 video streams with different network protocols , or JPEG images uploaded using FTP , email or HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol).
In addition to video capture, MEGA's network cameras also feature event management and intelligent video capabilities such as video motion detection, audio detection, damage alarms and automatic tracking. Most network cameras also have input / output ( I/O ) ports for connecting external devices such as sensors and repeaters. Additional features include audio capabilities and built-in Power over Ethernet ( PoE ) support.
