"China's voluntary carbon emission reduction standards" officially released

On October 19th, Cheng Tianquan, chairman of the China Voluntary Carbon Reduction Standards Council, announced at the Shanghai World Expo United Nations Pavilion that the "China Voluntary Carbon Emission Reduction Standard" was officially released. This is China's first complete voluntary carbon emission reduction standard system developed independently with reference to international rules. The carbon emission reductions approved and verified through this standard will have international authority and be recognized by domestic and foreign markets. According to reports, the "China's voluntary carbon emission reduction standards" include the constitution, carbon emission reduction technology standards, carbon trading standards, registration and verification procedures, mediation and arbitration rules. The establishment of this standard system is conducive to China's transformation of its economic development model and the construction of an ecological civilization. It will help China take the initiative in international negotiations on climate change and enhance China's position in the global response to climate change.
