3D CAD Tutorial: Zhongwang 3D Design CPU Radiator Base

Following up from the previous article where I discussed using 3D modeling to create the fan for a CPU cooler, today I want to share with you how to model the base of a CPU cooler using 3D CAD tools. This tutorial focuses on using key features like extrusion, rotation, and hole creation within the Zhongwang 3D modeling environment. If you're new to 3D design, this guide should help you quickly grasp the basics of 3D CAD.
Let's dive into the step-by-step process of creating a 3D CAD model for the CPU cooler base:
1. Start by naming your part "Base" and create a sketch on the XY plane. The specific dimensions are illustrated in Figure 1. After completing the sketch, perform an extrusion as shown in Figure 2. The rounded edges of the extruded object can be seen in Figure 3.

2. Next, create another sketch based on the plane indicated in Figure 4. Follow the parameters provided and then extrude the new sketch as shown in Figure 5. Select the face shown in Figure 6 and create another sketch. Extrude this final sketch as shown in Figure 7.

3. Now, sketch on the YZ plane (Figure 8), and create a rotational feature based on the sketch (Figure 9). Switch to the XY plane and continue sketching (Figure 10).

Perform an extrusion on the newly sketched elements (Figure 11).
4. For the features you've created, apply a circular array (Figure 12). Combine all solid features together (Figure 13). To add holes to the part, use the hole creation tool. This time, we’ll focus on creating stepped holes. Refer to Figure 14 for the steps involved. Round the specified areas as shown in Figure 15. Finally, adjust the colors of the faces to achieve the desired visual effect, completing the model.
