The newly developed circuit board is designed like a thin plate, weighing only one-third as much as a regular sheet of paper. Its remarkable flexibility allows it to bend and stretch up to twice its original size, returning to its original form without any damage. This makes it ideal for use in wearable and implantable medical technologies.

Experts believe that due to its ultra-thin and flexible nature, this circuit board can be placed directly against the human body without causing discomfort. It could be used in advanced health monitoring systems, such as sensors for tracking heart rate and body temperature. Professor Yoshihide Yoshihiko, who led the research at the University of Tokyo, mentioned that these sensors could be so unobtrusive that users might not even notice them on their skin.
