Wire glass manufacturing process
Wire-wound glass, also known as wired glass, is a type of safety glass manufactured using a calendering process. During production, a wire mesh is unwound from a feeding device and introduced into the molten glass. The wire mesh then passes through the upper and lower calender rolls along with the glass liquid, forming the final wired glass product. The pattern of the wire mesh inside the glass is typically square or hexagonal, and the surface can be either textured or smooth. The thickness of wired glass usually ranges from 6 to 16 mm, excluding the thickness of the internal wire. This type of glass is highly durable and is commonly used in building applications, especially for roof structures where safety is a priority. Its unique composition not only enhances strength but also provides a distinctive visual appearance, making it a popular choice for both functional and aesthetic purposes.
