According to officials at the Quality Supervision Department, there are five effective methods for consumers to identify good-quality faucets.

The experts advised buyers to evaluate the product through four key steps: "seeing," "touching," "listening," and "testing." First, "seeing" involves examining the surface finish. High-quality faucets typically have an electroplated coating that is smooth, uniform, and free of bubbles or oxidation spots. A well-finished nozzle should look polished and professional.

"Touching" means physically checking the weight and texture. Premium faucets are often made from solid brass, which feels heavier compared to other materials like alloys or engineering plastics. If the faucet feels light or soft, it might be made from lower-quality materials. When you press your hand against the surface, a high-quality plating will remain intact, while lower-quality ones may show wear more quickly.

"Listening" refers to tapping the faucet gently to hear the sound. A genuine brass faucet produces a deep, mellow tone, whereas a crisp or metallic sound suggests it's made from stainless steel or inferior alloys, which may not last as long. Lastly, "testing" involves checking the internal valve mechanism. A good faucet should have a smooth, precise movement when turning the handle, with no looseness or resistance.
