How to Install Pool Mesh Fencing

Measure the post positions using a measuring tape and mark them with small black dots on the concrete around your swimming pool. Always refer to the manufacturer's instructions for the exact spacing between posts, as it may vary depending on the kit. Most standard kits require posts to be placed 3 feet apart for 15-foot fence sections. Make sure to measure from center to center for each post position. Continue this process all the way around the fence line to mark every post location. Next, insert a 1/2-inch diamond core drill bit into your drill and press firmly into the concrete to create a clean hole. After that, switch to a 3/4-inch bit and drill the hole to that size. Finally, use a 1-1/4-inch bit to complete the hole to the required depth. This ensures the post will fit securely and properly. Once the holes are drilled, place a post sleeve into each one. Insert the metal post into the sleeve and twist it clockwise until it locks into place. Then, attach a metal fence clamp to both the top and bottom of the post, aligning the pre-drilled holes with the fencing. Secure the fence to the post by driving two screws through the fence and into the post at both the top and bottom. Repeat this process along the entire fence line. Pool mesh fencing typically comes in heights ranging from 3 to 5 feet. It’s a good idea to choose a taller mesh if you have young children, as it can provide better safety as they grow, reducing the need for future upgrades. Lastly, install safety latches on all adjacent poles. These latches may vary in design depending on the manufacturer, but most are designed to clip around the post for added security. Make sure each latch is properly fastened to prevent accidental opening. Taking the time to install these correctly ensures the fence is not only functional but also safe for everyone around the pool.
