Can not ignore the 8 kinds of sanitary feng shui fears

First, the toilet facing the wrong direction. According to traditional Chinese feng shui principles, the orientation of the toilet should not align with the main entrance of the house. For example, if the front door faces south, sitting on the toilet while facing the same direction is considered unfavorable. This is believed to create a sense of jealousy or imbalance within the household, potentially leading to health or emotional issues. Although I haven’t personally verified this in real-life situations, it’s still wise to avoid such configurations when possible.

Second, avoiding water and fire clashes. Many feng shui schools advise against placing the toilet in the southern part of the house. This relates to the Eight Trigrams, where the south corresponds to the fire element. The bathroom, being associated with water, can weaken the fire energy if placed there. In feng shui, this is similar to an “eight-character rush,” which is considered negative for the family’s fortune and well-being.

Third, enclosed toilets can harm health. Some bathrooms are fully sealed with no windows and only rely on exhaust fans. According to traditional beliefs, every bathroom should have a window to allow natural light and airflow. Proper ventilation helps remove stale air and maintain a fresh environment. If a bathroom lacks proper ventilation, it can lead to poor air quality and negatively impact the health of the residents. Air fresheners may mask odors but don’t address the underlying issue of poor circulation.

Fourth, certain directions are considered dangerous. Many feng shui texts warn against placing the toilet in the southwest or northeast corners of the house. These areas are associated with the Kan and Dui trigrams, respectively, and are believed to be powerful positions. Since the toilet represents water, placing it in these areas is thought to disrupt the balance of the home. This is said to create harmful energy patterns that can affect the family's luck and health.

Fifth, toilet placement affects overall luck. Besides the northeast, the southwest is also considered a strong and potentially harmful position. If you need to move the toilet, it's best to shift it from the west to the northwest. Avoid placing the toilet in the southern area, as this is the direction of light and positivity. A western toilet isn't ideal either, but it's less problematic unless there are specific concerns like a single woman or someone about to get married.

Sixth, bathtubs in the bedroom can cause health issues. Some people design their bathrooms with a raised basin and an embedded tub, which looks elegant but may not be ideal. According to traditional feng shui, the bathroom floor should not be higher than the bedroom floor, especially the bathtub area. This is because water naturally flows downward, and having a raised tub in the bedroom could lead to moisture buildup, potentially causing endocrine system imbalances. If you love this design, consider placing the tub in a separate bathroom away from the bedroom.

Seventh, the center of the house is not suitable for the toilet. According to the Luoshu grid, the center represents earth, while the bathroom is associated with water. Placing the toilet in the center could create an imbalance between the two elements, leading to negative effects. Additionally, central locations often involve complex plumbing systems that pass through other rooms, making maintenance difficult. It’s also unwise for sewage pipes to run through living spaces, as it can cause inconvenience and even damage to the home’s structure.

Eighth, toilets at the end of a corridor are considered harmful. If your home has a long hallway, ensure the toilet is not located at the end. This is seen as a "murderer" image in feng shui, as it symbolizes the flow of energy being blocked or "washed away." Such a setup can be detrimental to the health and well-being of the household members.

Carbon Steel Washer

Low carbon USS flat washers, typically used with Grade 8 or hardened steel bolting, are used under bolt heads or nuts to increase the bearing surface area, or to offer protection so that the nut or bolt can be rotated without distortion of the bearing surface. Flat washers are also used to give tightness to a joint, to prevent leakage, and especially to distribute pressure under the head of a bolt or nut. Dimensional specifications are governed by ASME B18.21.1. USS (United States Standard) flat washers have a larger outer diameter than SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) flat washers, and can be utilized in nearly any application. ASTM F844 covers the standard specifications for unhardened steel flat washers for general use. Available in zinc plated finish. Zinc plating sacrifices itself, corroding before the base material, offering added corrosion resistance.
