Notice on holding the 2014 Safety Technology Week

**Notice from the General Office of the State Administration of Work Safety on Organizing the 2014 Safety Science and Technology Activity Week** Hall Letter [2014] No. 113 To the provincial, autonomous regional, and municipal work safety supervision administrations, as well as the coal mine safety supervision bureaus in each province and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps: The State Administration of Work Safety has planned to organize the 2014 Safety Science and Technology Activity Week, scheduled from May 17 to May 24, 2014. In order to ensure the smooth implementation of this event, the following guidelines are hereby issued: 1. All local work safety supervision departments and resident coal mine safety supervision agencies are required to follow the instructions provided by the China Association for Science and Technology under the Ministry of Science and Technology regarding the organization of the 2014 Science and Technology Activities Week (Guo Ke Fa Zheng [2014] No. 69, attached). The theme of this year’s Safety Science and Technology Activity Week is “Safe Development, Innovation, and Dream.” Local authorities should actively plan and implement relevant activities based on this theme. 2. During the activity week, all units are encouraged to leverage modern communication tools to showcase major achievements in safety science and technology innovation. Efforts should be made to bring safety science education to rural areas, communities, and enterprises. This initiative aims to create a positive public atmosphere that encourages broader societal attention and support for safe production. It also serves to promote the widespread dissemination of safety knowledge and enhance the overall safety awareness and scientific literacy of the general public. 3. Provincial work safety supervision bureaus and coal mine safety supervision bureaus are requested to submit detailed reports on the implementation of the 2014 Safety Science and Technology Activity Week to the Planning and Technology Department of the State Administration of Work Safety before June 30, 2014.
