On May 1, the "Changsha City Elevator Safety Management Regulations" officially came into effect. In preparation, the Changsha High-tech Zone held a special equipment safety meeting on April 30 to review last year’s safety performance, outline this year’s key priorities, and provide an in-depth explanation of the new regulations to over 100 enterprise representatives. Deputy Director Mo Yiping of the High-tech Zone Management Committee and Deputy Director Yan Liangan from the Municipal Quality Supervision Bureau attended the event. “Thanks to enhanced safety awareness and improved safeguard measures, there were no elevator-related accidents in the High-tech Zone last year,” said an official from the Zone’s Quality Supervision Bureau. The bureau noted that elevators, being widely used in daily life, often generate numerous complaints. Last year, the bureau successfully resolved 44 elevator-related safety complaints. This year, the focus will be on strengthening supervision across installation, maintenance, usage, and technical information. The goal is to reinforce corporate responsibility and continuously enhance the safety standards of all special equipment. Mo Yiping emphasized that all entities involved in special equipment safety must strictly follow the principle of “safety first, prevention foremost, and comprehensive management.” He urged companies to take their safety responsibilities seriously, invest in operator training, and closely monitor critical areas.
