Notice on holding the 2014 Safety Technology Week

**Notice from the General Office of the State Administration of Work Safety on Organizing the 2014 Safety Science and Technology Activity Week** Hall Letter [2014] No. 113 To the provincial, autonomous regional, and municipal work safety supervision administrations, as well as the coal mine safety supervision bureaus in each province and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps: The State Administration of Work Safety has scheduled the 2014 Safety Science and Technology Activity Week to take place from May 17 to May 24, 2014. In order to ensure the successful implementation of this event, the following guidelines are hereby issued: 1. All local work safety supervision departments and resident coal mine safety inspection agencies are required to follow the instructions provided by the China Association for Science and Technology under the Ministry of Science and Technology regarding the 2014 Science and Technology Activities Week (Document No. Guo Ke Fa Zheng [2014] No. 69, attached). With the theme of “Safe Development, Innovation, and Dream,” it is recommended that all regions actively organize relevant activities to promote the importance of safety science and technology. 2. During the activity week, all relevant units should make full use of modern communication tools to showcase major achievements in safety science and technology innovation. Efforts should be made to bring safety science education into rural areas, communities, and enterprises, thereby fostering a public environment that supports safe production. This initiative aims to enhance the general public’s awareness of safety and improve their scientific understanding of safe practices. 3. Provincial work safety administrations and coal mine safety supervision bureaus are required to submit reports on the 2014 Safety Science and Technology Activity Week to the Planning and Technology Department of the State Administration of Work Safety by June 30, 2014.
