Building standard parts library with ProEngineer software

Corresponding to the standard parts library and the national standard, the genuine ProEngineer has several installation CDs of library files, including many standard parts conforming to ANSI (American National Standards Organization), ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) and ISO. This article is not a comprehensive introduction here, just under the basic library (BasicLi-brary)

Corresponding to the standard parts library and the national standard, the genuine ProEngineer has several installation CDs of library files, including many standard parts conforming to ANSI (American National Standards Organization), ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) and ISO. This article is not a comprehensive introduction here, just take some standard parts in metriclib under the basic library (BasicLi-brary) as an example to introduce the transformation method. Many national standards in China correspond to ANSI, ASME and other standards, so we must first match the standard parts library with the national standard. This work can be opened one by one under Pro/Engineer to compare with our national standards. Here is just one column: the hex socket screw library mscs.prt (SocketHeadCapScrews-ASME/ANSIB18.3.1M-1986) under metriclib/sockhdser is known to correspond to China's GB70-85<1>, we can do it in Pro/Engineer In the startup directory (or other convenient directory), create a subdirectory GB; build a "hexagonal screw" subdirectory under the GB, and then put the modified hexagonal screw family file into it. GB under the hexagonal screw.

Add the corresponding parameters to the library

Open the file to start ProEngineer, change the working directory to C:ptcobjlibmetriclibsockhdscr (the default installation directory of ProEnginee standard library is C:ptc, or other directory of your choice); open mscs.prt with Openfile, the selection box appears as shown 1. Screw box selection box In this selection box, you can switch to “According to parameters” to select various specifications of hexagon socket screws according to parameters such as thread diameter and length, but we only select ordinary model here, click “Open” ,open a file. Use Save As > to rename the file to GB70-85.prt and save it. .GB under hex screw; close mscs.prt, file: change the working directory to GB hex socket screw; open GB70-85.prt.

Adding Names, Standards, and Material Parameters The schedule settings for each company are not the same, but for standard parts, names, standards, materials, and specifications are required. Suppose we use the parameters DES, PRTNO, and MAT to represent names, standards, and materials in the assembly diagram column. The work to be done is to add these parameters to the library. The method is as follows: PART>SetUp>Parameters>Creat>String(character); the prompt box prompts you to enter the parameter name; enter: PRT-NO in the box and click or enter: Enter the parameter value in the next prompt box: GB70-85 and click? Or press Enter to complete the creation of the first parameter. In the same way, the second parameter DES is created and assigned: Hexagonal cylindrical screw; the third parameter MAT is assigned: 45 steel. 3.3 Increase the specification parameters The specifications are expressed differently depending on the object. Simple washers (such as 20), complex screws (such as M16 × 100). The setting of the parameters in the specification column of the assembly drawing schedule must be determined according to the most complicated expression. The parameter settings must also be considered in conjunction with the detail column of the assembly drawing when modifying the standard parts library. Adding the specification parameters can be done by adding the same name, standard, and material parameters: Part > SetUp > Pa-rameters > Create > String; the parameter names are SIZE and LEN respectively. You can assign values to the specification parameters arbitrarily, but they cannot conflict with the parameter names in the original relationship. For example, the parameters SIZE and LEN are respectively set to SZ and LENG. The diameter of the thread is first set: in the GB70-85.prt file, the diameter and pitch of the thread have a parameter NOMSIZETHRPITCH to express. If they are displayed together, it is relatively simple. Change the parameter value of SIZE to NOMSIZETHRPITCH.
