Japanese machine tool analysis in July market

Orders for Japanese machine tool tools totaled 104.39 billion yen in July, down 4.3% from June, the first month-on-month decline since June. And this figure is down 19.7% from June last year, which is the 12th consecutive month of year-on-year decline. The total order amount exceeded 100 billion yen for three consecutive months.
        Domestic orders in Japan totaled 51.30 billion yen in July, up 1.1% from June, and rose for the second consecutive month. It was down 14.3% from July last year and is the sixth consecutive year-on-year decline since this year.
In major industry sectors, industrial machinery orders fell 6.1% in July, auto manufacturing orders rose 15.5%, electronics and precision machinery orders fell 5.3%, and aviation, shipbuilding and transportation equipment orders rose 29.6%.
Japan’s foreign trade orders totaled 53.09 billion yen, down 8.9% from June, and fell for the second consecutive month. Compared with the same period of last year, it decreased by 24.3%; it was the 14th consecutive month of decline.
In terms of the order area, Asian orders fell by 17.4% from June, with orders totaling 21.12 billion yen; a decrease of 30.4% compared with the same period last year. European orders increased by 2.4% from June, with orders totaling 14.41 billion yen; a decrease of 17.5% compared with the same period last year.
